Just realized I was gluing my book spines wrong for 2 years straight
Last week in my workshop in Austin I finally figured out that using PVA glue instead of the wheat paste I'd been slapping on was why my spines kept cracking after a few months, anyone else make that rookie mistake?

That "using the wrong thing for years" thing hits close to home. I spent a good three years thinking my rice cooker was broken before I realized I just needed to let the rice sit after it finished.

Man I laughed out loud reading this because I did the exact same thing with my Instant Pot. For like two years I was convinced the pressure cooking function was just hype because my meat always came out dry. Turns out I was letting the pressure release too fast every single time. Once I started letting it naturally release for 10-15 minutes everything changed. Still kick myself thinking about all those ruined roasts and stews I threw in the trash. Makes you wonder what other basic stuff we're all doing wrong without realizing it.
