Cracked my spine on a text block because I listened to the wrong person
I was told by a guy at my local craft store that PVA glue was fine for any book project. First time making a text block and the spine cracked after 2 months. Anybody know a good source for flexible adhesive?

Oh man that's rough, really feel for you on this one. A good flexible PVA like Lineco or EVA adhesive from Talas would be way more reliable for text blocks.

Oh totally, the "flexible PVA" thing is key. I learned that the hard way after trying to use regular white glue on a couple of my own books and watching them crack open after a few months. Lineco is what I've settled on too, it's just so much more forgiving. I've had good luck with it on everything from old paperbacks to some thicker art books I rebinded for myself. Your mileage may vary of course, but I've never had a spine crack or pages fall out with that stuff. It's worth the few extra bucks just for the peace of mind alone.
