Vent: Spent 4 hours debating if a book's ending was 'too neat' and we never even voted

My book club picked a thriller last month and the ending wrapped everything up in a bow. Half the group said it was satisfying, the other half said it was lazy writing. We went back and forth for FOUR HOURS straight. I checked my phone at midnight and realized nobody had actually called for a vote or even picked our next book. Has anyone else’s club gotten stuck on one debate point and totally derailed the whole meeting?

Yeah that phrase hits so close to home, I feel like it happens every other session honestly.
