Shoutout to reading the book first, the movie pick flopped in our club
Last week our club read The Rainmaker, and we tried a new thing where half the group watched the movie first to save time. The readers had a way better night of it, they caught all the small stuff the film cut, and the movie folks kept asking who certain characters were. When we voted on the discussion, the book-first side had 8 of 10 picks for best moment. The film skipped the whole trial strategy that drove our best argument. Anyone else run into this where the shortcut kills the chat?
