Paid $240 for a rare hardcover, got a box of printer paper instead
Found a signed first edition of a book my club was debating, listed at $240 from a seller in Ohio. It showed up two weeks later and the box had a ream of HP printer paper and a thank you note from some office supply company. I filed a claim, got my money back, but the seller account vanished before they could respond. The funny part is my book club used the empty box as a prop for our discussion on unreliable narrators. Anyone else get screwed by a phantom book seller online, and did the platform side with you at all?
