Our club spent 45 minutes on page 12 and never made it past chapter 1

Last Tuesday at Denise's place in Fairfield, we got into it over whether the brother's silence on page 12 meant he knew about the money or not, and the whole hour was gone. Three people hadn't read past chapter 2 and it still turned into the best talk we've had in a year. How do you all keep a talk from getting stuck on one page?
