My book club leader swore we'd hate the ending of The Goldfinch
Our group leader said nobody in her last TWO groups finished it happy because the ending was a letdown. So I went in expecting to be annoyed, but honestly? I LOVED how it wrapped up. Theo finally got some closure with the painting and his life. I feel like she put this idea in our heads before we even started, and now I'm wondering if she's just a bad judge of books. Has anyone else had a book club leader steer you wrong like that?

Oh absolutely, my book taste is so bad I once judged a cookbook by its cover and it turned out to be a murder mystery (true story, I was very confused about the recipe section).
