Hot take: Our book club used to fight over which book to pick, now we just use a random generator.

Back in 2018, we'd spend a whole meeting just arguing, with Karen always pushing for historical fiction. Now we plug our list into a website and let it decide, which saved our group from falling apart last fall. Anyone else's club ditch the drama for a simple tool?

That whole "saved our group from falling apart" part is so real. We tried a voting system but people would get salty if their pick lost. The random generator removes all that personal blame, so now we just get excited for whatever weird book it spits out.

Our group's random picker actually saved us too, lily394, but we still vote on the final three options it gives us.

So the real trick is just outsourcing the drama to a computer?
