Got ripped apart at my book club for picking a YA novel last month

I brought The Hunger Games to our monthly meetup at that coffee shop on Elm Street and three members literally walked out before we even started discussing it. Has anyone else dealt with that kind of snobbery in their group?

3 of my 7 members are librarians who secretly read YA on their lunch breaks.

Wait, librarians actually read YA on their breaks? Ngl I used to think that was just something people said to sound relatable. Honestly this makes me realize I was being kinda snobby about YA books without knowing how many people in book-related jobs actually enjoy them. Ive got a new respect for that now, like if the people surrounded by books all day are choosing those, maybe they are way better than I gave them credit for.
