Finishing 'Moby-Dick' a month after our club moved on gave me a new perspective on literary time.

Moby-Dick after the fact feels like solving a mystery everyone already spoiled. Your mileage may vary, but I call that peak literary irony.

Totally, that's exactly how I felt reading Macbeth for the first time too lol.

Reading @mia_park's take on Macbeth reminded me I used to find it overrated. But discussing it in a book club last year totally shifted my perspective. Now I get why people call it a masterpiece, kind of like nguyen.iris's point about Moby-Dick.
