Warning: I tried preheating my boiler tubes with a weed burner and learned something the hard way
I was doing a small firetube job in Gary last month and figured a weed burner would save me time warming the tubes before rolling them in, since the propane torch kept running out. Turns out the uneven heat put a slight bow in two of them, and my fitter noticed right away when the rollers wouldn't seat right. Anyone else ever tried rigging up a shortcut for tube prep, or is it just slow and steady with the rosebud every time?
