Warning: a loose clamp on a 2 inch line at the Toledo job nearly cost me my thumb
I was rushing a hydro test on a boiler feed line at the refinery in Toledo last spring and walked right past a clamp I swore was tight. When that line let go at 180 psi it whipped the hose and cracked my knuckle on the frame before I even knew what happened. Now I do a full walk of every clamp and fitting twice, once before I pressurize and once after, no matter how late it is. Anyone else got a close call that turned into a hard rule for them?
