Spent $180 on a set of offset box wrenches for a tight boiler header job, and they saved me three hours of knuckle-busting frustration.
Has anyone else found a specific tool that paid for itself on a single, cramped job?

My old boss used to say a tool is only worth it if it gets used ten times. Spending that much for a single job feels like a band-aid fix, not a smart buy. Couldn't you have rented something or even modified a cheaper wrench with a grinder? Seems like poor planning to me.

Haha my old boss said the same thing! I'm the queen of buying tools for one job and then they just collect dust. Alice_anderson35 is right, we all do it way too much.

People apply that logic to everything now.
