Rant: Learned tube specs off a 20 year old schedule book at the union hall

I was digging through some old papers at the union hall last Wednesday and found a beat up schedule book from 2004. Turns out the wall thickness on 3 inch schedule 80 pipe is way different than what I've been prepping for. Nobody told me the tolerances shifted after 2010. Has anyone else run into old spec sheets that totally change how you cut tube?

Wait, you mean I've been cutting all my tube wrong for the last 14 years?

And it's funny because it's one of those things that seems like it shouldn't matter much, but it really does. I used to cut my tubes straight across for years, and I always wondered why my beads would fall off or slide around so much. Someone finally showed me the 45 degree angle trick, and it made a huge difference for the last row of beads on a band. The angle catches them just right so they stay put, and it also makes it a lot easier to get your needle through the end. It's a small change but it saves so much frustration once you get used to it.
