Spent 6 hours pulling a sagging tube out of unit 3 that had run hot for who knows how long, and the whole thing bowed like a wet noodle. Anyone else got a temp number they use as a hard rule, or do you just eyeball it like I did?
1400 is about right for carbon steel, I've always gone by 1450 as my red line before I start planning a shutdown. Once it sags past a few inches you're just fighting it the whole way out, sounds like you earned that one.
