Took me 45 minutes to sort a single deck of Magic cards by color

I had a stack of like 200 random cards from a booster draft and figured I'd just sort them quick. Got stuck trying to figure out if a gold bordered card counted as multicolor or colorless and ended up timing myself. Has anyone else hit a weird sorting snag that ate up way more time than it should have?

Wait, actually the border color thing is wrong - gold bordered cards from older sets like Chronicles and Collector's Edition aren't actually tournament legal and don't follow the normal color rules at all, they're just reprints with different backs. 45 mins still feels like a lot though, maybe just look at the card type line next time since it tells you straight up if something's a creature or artifact.

Gold bordered cards are multicolor, that's pretty clear actually. Wizards always printed gold borders for the multicolor stuff and the colorless artifacts get silver or brown borders depending on the era. 45 minutes does seem like a lot though, maybe you're overthinking it. I sort my cards by color in about 10 minutes for a 200 card stack, no sweat. Ever try just grouping them by the color symbol instead of the border color?
