TIL that sometimes letting a game go unfinished is the right move...

Everyone preaches about seeing every match through, but I've learned that cutting losses early keeps the mood light... It's a delicate balance that actually improves our gatherings.

Sticking it out builds character though. Some of my best memories are turning a 20-point deficit into a win because nobody gave up. Quitting at the first sign of trouble just teaches you to fold when things get hard. The mood might suck for a bit, but pushing through that slump together is where real team vibes come from.

How often does stopping early just cut off a comeback story?

Yeah that "turning a 20-point deficit into a win" thing sounds good but it can go wrong. My buddy forced his group to play out a totally lost board game for like an extra hour chasing that feeling. Dude was tired, his wife was mad about the time, and his friend just shut down. The comeback never came and they all left annoyed. Sometimes the win you're fighting for is just ending the night still friends.
