TIL my 8 year old actually loves board games now
So my kid, who usually just wants to watch stuff on his tablet, asked to play a game with me last night. We dug out Ticket to Ride: First Journey, which I bought like a year ago and it just sat there. We played three games in a row, and he was totally into it, trying to block my routes and everything. It wasn't about winning for him, he just liked putting the trains down. I've been trying to get him into this hobby since he was like 5, and it finally clicked. Felt like a real win, way better than fixing a tricky alternator. Anyone else have a moment where a younger family member finally got hooked on a game?

It's amazing how kids find their own reasons to love a hobby! That genuine fun is what makes family game nights stick.

It's not just kids, @rose_young, adults find their own fun in it too.
