Taught a newbie Catan last night and they crushed me with a strategy I never saw coming
I laid out a road building plan and this kid (maybe 12 years old?) just bought up all the development cards and won in 45 minutes flat. Has anyone else had a rookie reveal a totally different way to play a classic game?

Rough break. @perez.barbara is right though, development cards are solid.
