Spilled a full mug of tea on Pandemic Legacy season 2 during the December game
Happened Saturday night at my buddy Dave's place in Akron. We were three games into the final month and things were tense, and I reached across the table for the legacy deck and clipped my mug with my elbow. Tea everywhere. About half the board got soaked, the character cards curled up at the edges, and the little stickers peeled right off two cities. Dave just sat there with his hands on his head while I mopped it up with paper towels like an idiot. We let it dry overnight and tried to keep playing Sunday, but the board had warped and half the stickers were gone so nobody could tell what was what. Now the whole campaign is just sitting in the box and we can't finish it. Lesson learned about drinks at the table I guess, but I'm wondering if anyone has salvaged a soaked legacy game or if we just have to start season 2 over from scratch.
nobody could tell what was what" is the worst part honestly, a warped board you could maybe deal with but once the stickers are gone the game is just gone. Reminds me of when my cousin knocked a whole pitcher of kool aid onto our Risk board during a marathon game back in high school. We tried to keep going but the little army pieces kept sticking to the wet spots and the cards turned into one big mush brick. We ended up quitting and to this day he swears he was winning. We still bring it up at every family cookout. Some games just don't survive real life.
My roommate dumped a whole bowl of salsa on our Monopoly board during a party in college and we spent an hour picking soggy chance cards apart with paper towels. He still claims he had hotels on Boardwalk too.
