Shoutout to the guy at the game store who corrected my dice rolling
I was rolling dice wrong for 6 months in our Thursday night campaign, just tossing them loose across the table. A veteran player at the shop told me you have to shake them firmly in your palm and drop them from low down to get fair rolls. Has anyone else had their whole game changed by a simple tip from a stranger?

Is it really that deep though? I mean, it's dice. They roll how they roll, right? I've been tossing mine off the table edge for years and nobody's ever called me out for cheating. Seems like a whole lot of effort for something that's supposed to be random anyway.

Holding the dice in your palm to drop them also helps with keeping the same rolling technique each time. I noticed my dice were tumbling off the edge of my hand before and landing in weird ways that felt off. Making sure they hit the table flat instead of bouncing off my fingers gave me way more consistent rolls. It's one of those small things that makes the game feel fairer without anyone changing dice.
