PSA: I just lost $80 backing a board game on Kickstarter that never shipped.

I got caught up in the hype for 'Chrono Raiders' and backed it at the deluxe level, but the creator ghosted everyone after the funding closed, so has anyone else been burned by a project that looked too good to be true?

Tbh it's just Kickstarter, not a real store. You're basically giving money to a stranger with a cool idea. My buddy lost fifty bucks on some fancy headphones that never got made. It's a gamble, not a purchase. Gotta go in expecting to maybe lose it all.

@gavinhunt so what's the line between a gamble and just a bad deal? Your buddy's headphones sounded cool but never showed up, which feels worse than just losing a bet.
