Old way of sorting game tokens used to drive me nuts

I used to just dump all the cardboard tokens from a new board game into the box lid and dig through them every turn. After a rough session of Terraforming Mars where I spent half the game hunting for a specific 2VP token, I finally bought a pack of 24 small plastic containers from a dollar store for $6. Now I sort by type before the first play and it cuts setup time from 15 minutes to maybe 3. My group still makes fun of me for it, but they stopped complaining when they got their turns faster. Has anyone else found a cheap storage trick that totally changed how you play?

Half the game hunting for a 2VP token"... sounds like you needed a therapist, not containers.

Oh man, digging through a box lid is the true test of friendship, isn't it? My group still brings up the time I spent five minutes looking for a single ore token in Scythe. I feel like your buddy Nathan over there missed the point, a therapist would probably just tell me to relax and enjoy the hunt. My cheap trick was using old prescription bottles, they're clear, they stack, and they're basically free if you know anyone on medication. Now I just dump each token type in its own little bottle and call it a day, it's ugly but it works.
