My Catan village looked amazing until I realized the tiles were upside down

I spent like 2 hours painting all my Catan hex tiles to look super realistic with custom trees and little houses. Had a game night with my group and nobody said anything for the first hour until my buddy flipped a tile over and goes 'uh, you put the desert on the water side'. Now the whole board has these goofy upside down art pieces. Has anyone else ever mixed up a game's tiles or pieces and only found out mid game?

That's 2 hours you're never getting back lol.

Honestly learned more from failing fast than trying to perfect something for hours. Started just doing quick tests before committing time and it saved tons of frustration. Now I bail early if something feels off.

Man that resonates hard. I once spent a whole weekend on a project that was doomed from the start because I ignored that gut feeling. Now I just scrap ideas super quick if they don't click in like 10 minutes.
