Just hit 100 plays of my copy of Agricola and it made me feel weird
I logged my 100th play last night and it hit me how much time that really is. That's over 200 hours with the same box, the same cards, the same little wooden sheep. I bought it in 2015 for my birthday, and for years it just sat on my shelf looking tough. Then my weekly group got into it, and it became our thing. We've played it with three people, with five, with all the decks. We know every card, every strategy, and we still fight over who gets the starting player token. It stopped being a game and became this shared language, you know? But seeing that triple-digit number made me wonder, is this dedication or just us being stuck in a rut? Has anyone else gotten a high play count on one game and felt the same mix of pride and panic?

Read a blog post once where a guy had over 500 plays of Race for the Galaxy. He said it became like a favorite coffee mug, something so familiar it's just part of your day. The panic you feel is normal, like you're missing out on other stuff. But having a shared language with your group is pretty rare. That's not a rut, that's a home game.

Wait, you guys actually fight over the starting player token in Agricola? That thing is a curse, you get blocked on everything. My group practically draws straws to avoid it.
