I was a dice tower skeptic until I tried one at a convention in Minneapolis
I always thought dice towers were just overpriced unnecessary accessories. But last month at Con of the North, a guy let me roll on his 3D printed one during a game of Dune Imperium. My rolls were noticeably more random than my usual tumble from my cupped hands. I still won't buy a $60 wooden one, but I get the appeal now. Anyone else have a thing they dismissed until trying it out?

Oh man, I read something recently that said dice towers actually help with consistency by eliminating the human factor of how you toss, which honestly makes total sense after hearing your story. My mileage has varied with fancy accessories but I might have to give one a shot now.

Gotta nitpick though, dice towers actually add randomness, they don't remove it.
