Tried to model a coffee mug in Blender after 6 hours of tutorials, ended up with a donut shape instead
I followed a beginner tutorial step by step last week and somehow my extrusion tool made the handle spiral into itself. I learned that Blender's undo history is my best friend and that maybe I should start with simpler shapes like a cube. Has anyone else had a simple model turn into something totally different, or is it just me?
Stop following tutorials step by step and just mess around on your own for a while. That donut you made probably taught you more about the extrude tool than the tutorial would have, since you had to figure out why it spiraled. Messing up is how you actually learn the controls, so keep making weird shapes.
