The 1904 anvil I re sold after three years of hating it
Found a 1904 Peter Wright anvil at a farm auction for $180, beat to hell but the face was good. Turned out the rebound was unreal, way better than my new one, and I regret not swapping it into my shop sooner. Anyone else ever sold a tool and then bought the same one back at double the price?

Hah, that's the kind of mistake that keeps me up at night! So you knew the rebound was better the whole time, but you still let it go? What finally made you cave and buy it back, was it just the price tag or did you run into a job that your new anvil couldn't handle? I gotta ask, did you at least lowball the guy who had it, or did you just eat the loss and hand over cash with a straight face?
