Pro tip: Hand-forging vs power hammers for detail work

Some smiths say hand tools give more control for intricate designs, while others argue power hammers save time without losing quality. I'm split after using both on a custom knife handle. Where do you stand?

But was that precision from the hand tools just about feeling, or the actual result? On those really tight curves for the handle, does the power hammer just become too much to control?

Ngl, hand forging felt more precise on my last knife handle.

My last project was a hawk head with a leaf pattern. The power hammer just flattened the fine veins every single time. Had to finish all that detail with a chasing hammer and small punches.
