Had a chat with an old timer who changed my mind on power hammers
He said I was missing out on control by always grabbing the hammer and anvil, and after watching him forge a leaf spring in 5 minutes flat with a 25lb little giant, I gotta admit I might be stubborn for no reason, has anyone else had an old pro make them rethink their whole setup?

I watched a guy with a 50lb Chambersburg turn a truck spring into a leaf in under 4 minutes. It was impressive. But I still grab my hammer and anvil most days. That old timer's way works for production work. My way works for the custom knives I make where I need to feel every draw and twist.

Lol relax man, it's just forging. Nobody's handing out gold medals for "feeling every draw and twist." I mean yeah, the Chambersburg thing is cool to watch but you're acting like picking up a hammer is some kind of sacred ritual. At the end of the day it's still just hot metal and a hammer, whether you're doing it old school or with a power hammer. You do you though, whatever gets you through the day.
