A customer filmed my forge session and gave me a lecture
Last Tuesday some guy with a tripod came by my shop, watched me draw out a pair of leaf hooks, then told me my hammer grip was 'too tense for the mass of the work.' I laughed it off, but he showed me the slow-mo footage. My elbow was locking up on every hit, and I'd been doing that for about 8 years. I loosened my fingers and dropped the swing speed by maybe 20 percent, and the metal moved smoother plus my shoulder didn't ache the next day. Has anyone else gotten feedback from a random observer that actually stuck? What'd they say?

That tripod guy probably spent 30 minutes setting up his camera to feel important. Eight years of swinging your way and your work sells, that's the only metric that counts.
