Vent: My two-year-old threw a rock at the sliding door and I'm not even mad
So Tuesday morning I'm drinking coffee and my kid grabs a fist sized stone from the garden bed and hurls it at the patio slider. It bounced off with a loud THUNK, no crack, no chip. But then I looked closer and there's this faint smear right where the rock hit. Turns out that spot was where a mourning dove slammed into the glass last spring and I only wiped off the feathers, not the residue. That greasy mark is what kept drawing birds in, six strikes in three months, and I never connected it. Now I'm wondering, has anyone else found that a clean window actually invites more hits? Or is the real fix putting up those temp tape patterns on the outside? I'd rather not buy the fancy film if a paint pen does the job.

Wait, the smear from a bird strike from LAST spring is still on the glass and that's what's been drawing them in? That's honestly wild lmao, I never would've connected that. A tiny paint pen dot pattern on the outside should work fine, that's what most people do anyway.
