Unpopular opinion: Those cheap window decals from the dollar store actually worked for me
I put up a pack of 20 little hawk silhouettes last spring, expecting nothing, but we've only had one strike in 8 months (a robin that was totally fine after a few minutes). Anyone have a good source for more durable ones that won't fade so fast?

Wait, you found something that actually works? That's awesome. I've tried so many things and nothing really helped. My place is like a bird strike zone, it's so depressing. Where did you put the decals, just on one window or all of them? I might have to try this if they're still selling them.

So you only had one strike, but you're calling that a win? I'd say that's a huge win, honestly. My neighbor spent a fortune on some fancy UV stickers and still gets a few thumps a week. If your cheap ones stopped almost all of them, that's the goal. The fading is just a sign they're doing their job by being visible.

Read somewhere that birds learn to avoid decals after a while anyway, so the fading might not even matter. Your neighbor might have better luck with fewer, bigger decals instead of a bunch of tiny ones.
