Turns out my bird feeders were way too close to the windows this whole time
After finding a dead goldfinch under my kitchen window for the third time last week, I finally measured and realized the feeder was only 2 feet from the glass when it should have been way farther, has anyone else made this mistake?

Two feet is fine, the birds just need to learn basic window awareness.

Birds just need to learn" isn't really how it works, they don't see glass at all.

Not to pile on, but "two feet is fine" is definitely not right in my experience. I had the same problem and moved my feeders to about 10 feet from the glass, and it cut down on window strikes by a lot. Also, putting those decals on the outside of the glass can help break up the reflection for them.
