TIL my house hit 12 strikes in a single month

I always thought the decals were enough, but that number made me buy those special UV-reflecting dots... has anyone else found those to actually work?

My old place in Florida got hit 14 times one summer, it was ridiculous. I tried those dots and they seemed to help a bit, but honestly the best thing was finally getting a proper lightning rod installed. I still jump at every thunderstorm though, lol.

Man, @tara_palmer is right - those Florida summer storms are no joke. Lived in Orlando for two years and counted 18 ground strikes within a block of my apartment one July alone. Finally caved and got a whole-home surge protector after my neighbor's TV got fried through the cable line.
