Those window decals I bought off Amazon were a total waste

I stuck a dozen of those rainbow bird strike decals on my big living room window last spring and a robin still hit it at full speed three days ago on Tuesday. The bird was stunned for a good 10 minutes and I felt sick watching it wobble around on the ground. What kind of tape or film actually stops this from happening?

Yeah but I dunno about saying decals are a scam... @dylanbarnes I've had decent luck with the UV reflective decals spaced about four inches apart on my sunroom windows. Maybe it's more about how you place them than the product itself.

Those decals are basically a scam, same thing happened to me with a cardinal last summer, it hit the window so hard I thought it broke its neck. I switched to those external mesh screens that hang over the glass and haven't had a single strike since, birds just bounce off or glide right over them. Total pain to install but worth it not to watch birds knock themselves silly on your house.

Those mesh screens are the real deal, huh? Makes you wonder why decals are even sold anymore.
