That Tuesday in May when a robin hit my kitchen window three times

I was making coffee and heard a thud, saw the little guy on the deck. I put him in a box for a bit, he flew off, and twenty minutes later he did it again. By the third strike I was taping up some old gift wrap to the glass, which looked awful but finally worked. Has anyone else had one bird just not get the message?

Check if the bird was seeing its own reflection. Some birds get really territorial and attack what they think is a rival. That gift wrap trick is a classic fix for that exact problem.

Yeah the gift wrap trick is a classic for a reason. @julia622 nailed it with the reflection thing. My neighbor's bird did this exact same stuff with a toaster. Wrapped it up and the bird chilled out right away. It's wild how hard they'll fight a fake rival.

That tape trick brings back memories of my old cat who used to stare at a specific wall outlet for hours. I swear she was convinced there was a mouse in there. @butler.mark reminded me of that because the cat never gave up even when nothing happened, like that robin of yours. Gift wrap is way more creative than what I did, which was just draping a towel over the outlet and hoping for the best. Did you end up leaving the gift wrap up for a while just to be safe?
