That time a neighbor knocked on my door after a bird hit
About a month ago a woman from three houses down came over. She saw me putting up window decals and said she lost a cardinal last spring to her own big living room window. She told me about the bird she lost and how she still feels bad about it. It really stuck with me how one small talk can make you feel less alone in this. Has anyone else had a stranger share a bird strike story with them out of the blue?

Wait, wait. So you're telling me the decals are supposed to go on the outside? I mean, I literally just put mine on the inside of the window last week. That's wild. I thought they'd still break up the reflection from inside the glass, but I guess the bird is looking at it from the other side so it's basically just seeing my living room through a sticker. Idk, maybe I'm just overthinking it but now I feel kind of dumb for not reading the instructions.

Those decals are actually meant to go on the outside of the glass, not the inside, so the bird sees the pattern before it hits. It only works if the reflection breaks up from their side lol.
