Switched from sticky tapes to soap dots on my sliding door last month
I used to put those Acopian BirdSavers strips on my patio door every spring and they'd peel off by August in the Texas heat. Then a neighbor in Austin told me to just use bar soap dots about 4 inches apart on the glass. It sounds weird but the birds see the dots and avoid the window, plus the soap washes off easy with a hose. Has anyone else tried the soap method on larger windows?

My skepticism faded fast after trying this on my own back door.

Same here, I was skeptical too until I gave it a shot on a big slider last summer. Key thing is to use a plain white bar soap and reapply after heavy rain, it'll hold up way better than you'd expect. The soap method works fine on windows up to 8 feet wide as long as you space the dots close enough together.
