I thought those window stickers were just a gimmick until a robin hit my glass

I put up some of those hawk silhouette decals on my big living room window about three weeks ago, mostly to make my partner happy. Yesterday morning, a robin flew straight at the glass but turned at the last second, right between two of the stickers. It was the first time I've seen one actually work in real time. Has anyone else had a bird avoid a strike because of a specific decal pattern?

That "first time I've seen one actually work" line is the problem. You saw a bird turn once. It could have turned for a million other reasons, like a bug it was chasing or a gust of wind. Those stickers are just a feel-good thing for people. Birds are not that smart about flat, clear surfaces.
