I finally tried those expensive window decals that look like frost
Bought a pack of those fancy etched-glass style decals for $45, thinking they'd be invisible to me but clear to birds. Put them up on my big living room window in Denver. A robin hit the glass right between two of them last Tuesday, so they clearly don't cover enough area. Has anyone found a pattern or spacing that actually works without making your window look like a sticker book?

My Denver apartment has a window that's basically a bird bowling alley. I tried the 2-inch spaced grid pattern last year and still got a mourning dove concussion. Now my window looks like a kindergarten art project and I'm pretty sure the birds are laughing at me.

Got lucky with the same decals on my patio door, haven't had a single strike all season. Maybe it's just the angle of your window?

Try putting the decals on the outside of the glass, that's what finally worked for me. The reflection is on the outside surface, so that's where the birds see it. I used those clear window clings and cut them into strips. Space them no more than two inches apart, but make sure they're actually on the outside. It made a huge difference.
