Figured out why my decals weren't working after 3 months of strikes
Honestly I had those cheap hawk silhouette stickers on my big living room window for ages and birds were still hitting it like crazy. Turns out I was putting them too far apart, like 6 inches spacing, and a guy at the local bird store told me they need to be no more than 4 inches apart for small birds like finches. After I added more stickers last Thursday I haven't had a single thump. Has anyone else had luck with spacing making a difference?

Ha! I did the exact same thing with my stickers and probably looked like an idiot measuring them out at 6 inches apart for way too long.

I read somewhere that people who take the time to get things like sticker placement exactly right tend to be more detail oriented in general. It makes sense, because if you're going to slap something on a wall or a laptop you want it to look decent. I measured my own stickers down to the quarter inch once and my wife just rolled her eyes at me. But hey, at least we don't end up with crooked stickers that bother us every time we walk by. There's some comfort in that.
