Duct tape vs. those fancy window films, 6 months later
I used to just slap duct tape in a grid on my big picture window every spring, but after a thrush hit the glass in April I tried the Acopian BirdSavers strings instead. The tape worked okay but looked awful and I kept redoing it every few weeks, while these strings took an hour to hang and have held up through two storms. Now I'm wondering if the string spacing I used, 4 inches, is actually right or if I should go tighter. Anyone else switch methods and regret it or go back?
