Trying to decide if a $45 antenna was the best or worst call for my endless streaming habit
Two months ago I dropped $45 on a plain indoor antenna because my internet bill kept creeping up and I was tired of paying for three services at once. Here is the split in my head. One side says it was the smartest buy of the year, since I now get about 30 local channels for free and I have been rewatching old sitcoms every night like it is 1998 again, and my streaming bill went from $68 down to $22. The other side says I got suckered, because half of those channels are shopping networks and reruns I could find anywhere, and I still caved and kept two services for the shows I actually want. My sister in Cleveland laughed at me and said her antenna has been in a closet for a year. I keep going back and forth on whether free TV is a real comeback or just a cheap fix that fades. Has anyone else tried cutting back this way, and did the free channels actually hold your attention or did you crawl back to streaming?
