PSA: I keep seeing people say 'The Bear' is a cooking show, and it's missing the point

I've noticed a bunch of folks online calling it a simple food show, but it's really a high-stress drama about family and grief set in a kitchen. The first season is only eight episodes, and the frantic pace is a huge part of the story, not just a style choice. Anyone else find shows that get labeled wrong like this?

Totally, people said the same thing about "Kitchen Nightmares" just being a food show too.

The Bear is basically a family drama that happens to use a kitchen as its stage. I saw a clip of the Christmas episode, and it's a full hour of screaming and trauma with almost no cooking at all. When people call it a food show, I just tell them to watch that episode first. It sets the tone way better than the pilot.
