My sister kept telling me to watch 'The Last of Us' and I finally did last weekend.

She said I'd cry by episode three, and I was sure I wouldn't, but she was completely right. I binged the whole season in two days and now I'm just sitting here thinking about it. What's a show that got you emotionally when you didn't expect it to?

You saying you binged it in two days hits home. For me it was "After Life" with Ricky Gervais. Went in expecting dark comedy, which it is, but it just sucker punches you with this quiet grief about losing someone. Stuck with me for days.

Honestly that show gets the small moments of grief so right. Like him just sitting in his dead wife's closet smelling her clothes. Did you find it actually helpful to watch, or did it just make you feel worse? I remember some scenes being almost too real.

For me it was "Normal People" on Hulu. Went in thinking it was just another romance drama and ended up wrecked by the end of episode two. The way they capture that gut feeling of never quite saying the right thing to someone you care about hit way too close to home. Had to take a full day off before I could watch the rest. Your mileage may vary on that one but it got me good.
