My old binge system was a total mess until my friend called me out

I used to just start any show that looked good, but I'd get three episodes in and lose interest, wasting hours. After my buddy Sam said, 'Dude, you've started six shows this month and finished zero,' I made a new rule: I only start a show if at least two people I trust have finished the whole season. Has anyone else set a rule like this to stop wasting time on shows that don't stick?

My friend Jake had a three episode rule before he'd ditch a show.

My rule is to check the show's ending first.

I've seen people say "check the ending first" before and I gotta ask - does that not completely kill the whole point of watching? Like if you already know who dies or what the big twist is, what's even the point of sitting through the buildup? I get being scared of a bad ending but isn't the journey part of the experience too? Seems like you're just turning a show into a checklist instead of actually enjoying it. Do you ever regret knowing the ending before you start watching?
