I got my partner to watch a show by starting with a random season 3 episode
They always said they hated the genre, so I skipped the slow first season. I picked a really good, self-contained episode from later on that showed the vibe without needing backstory. It worked, they asked to start from the beginning after that. Has anyone else had luck with a weird entry point like that?

Nice. Did that with The Office. My buddy thought it was just boring office stuff. Made him watch "Dinner Party" from season 4. Pure chaos. The awkward fights, the weird art, Jan's candle obsession. He was crying laughing. Binged the whole series the next week. Sometimes you gotta skip the setup.

omg @johnh82 that's the perfect episode to hook someone! I did the exact same thing with my cousin who said the show looked dumb. I made her watch "Stress Relief" with the fire drill opening. She was dying at Andy's scream and Dwight cutting the face off the dummy. She finished the whole thing in like two weeks flat. You're so right, sometimes you just gotta jump to the good chaos to get them.
