I finally gave that slow-burn show a real chance

For years, my friend in Portland kept telling me to watch 'The Expanse', but I gave up after two episodes back in 2019 because it felt too dense. Last week, with the kids at their grandma's, I decided to push through to episode four. The scene where the ice hauler gets destroyed completely hooked me, and I ended up watching the whole first season in two days. Has anyone else had a show click for them after a rough start?

Honestly two days for the whole first season is wild with kids around. That scene on the ice hauler is a serious game changer though. Tbh I'm shocked you had that much free time even with them at grandma's.

My buddy had the exact same thing happen with 'Mad Men'. He kept calling it boring office stuff for like five episodes. Then that scene where Don gives the carousel pitch just wrecked him out of nowhere. He texted me at 2 AM saying he finally got it and binged three seasons that month.

My coworker Sarah hated The Wire for weeks. Called it confusing cop stuff. Then that scene where Bubbles tries to get clean just clicked for her. She finished the whole series in like a month.
