I always skipped the intro song on Severance until my friend made me watch it
My buddy came over last Friday and we started the show. He stopped me from hitting skip and said, 'No way, this part is key.' Watching it with the creepy music and those weird office shots, I finally got the whole vibe they were going for. It totally changed how I saw the show's mood from the start. Anyone else have a show where the intro actually matters a lot?

My first time through The Wire I skipped the intro every single episode. Then I read something about how the song changes each season to match the theme, and I went back and really watched them. It sounds obvious now, but seeing the different versions of "Way Down in the Hole" made the whole show feel deeper. I started paying attention to opening credits after that.

Season 2's intro with the Irish folk version completely changed the feel of the docks for me. I did the same thing and skipped them all on my first watch. Now I get mad at myself for missing the Tom Waits original in season 1. It makes you see how each season has its own sound and soul. I watch every single opening credit now because of that show.
